Kevin Harvey Design B@T-MAN by Boker Plus, Germany
It all started with a dream. Kevin dreamed about this unique grind and blade shape one night while he and Heather were doing a self-defense course which involved using knives. He woke up and drew the design with a blade shaped like a bat wing and a couple of days later he had made the first prototype. We then tested the knife and it cut like no other knife we had ever used. This 4” folder can cut through two 1” free hanging sisal ropes in one swipe and slices up conveyer belt as if it were paper! We tested the knife at our local butcher by dressing a beef leg in an old pair of jeans. The resulting cuts were terrifying!
We made an interesting home movie showing the B@ in action and submitted the knife and video to the well known Solingen, Germany, knife company, Boker. They accepted the design and have put the knife into production. We have the knife in stock at R1 130 each, plus postage. Please look at our Knives For Sale page for other great Boker knives and Smiths sharpeners.
We believe that this grind (an extremely difficult one to do by hand) will revolutionize knife making. The grind actually pulls the item it is cutting into the cut. The scallops on the edge act as large serration’s, but do not catch on the item being cut. This knife is perfect for self-defense, it has a pocket clip and lanyard. The G-10 handle slabs are grooved for extra grip and can be held in any position. The liner lock blade is 8Cr13MoV stainless knife steel. The B@T-MAN also makes a great biltong knife!
